A strong move was made today as one webmaster bought $120 in links that counted towards the $100 giveaway contest. Now instead of taking the 1st link for $100 they bought 20 links for $6. A very interesting strategy, and I’m not sure which one works better. On the one hand the 1st link stays up longer, and gets the most hits on the site. On the other hand the 20 links may stay for a shorter period, but if anybody clicks on a link on the middle of the page, it’s going to be this guy’s link. Also, thanks to this purchase, the minimum bid is now $3.01.

Also if this webmaster ends up winning, he will have paid only $1 per link a pretty damned good deal I’d say. Now is this move going to break the rest of the field, or is someone going to chase after him and battle it out for the $100 prize? there’s about 35 hours left in the contest, so we’ll find out.
