Alexa

The Link Experiment just sneaked under 20,000 in the alexa rankings, woohoo! It stands at 19,892. The next big one would be 10,000, that is a very hard level to break into but we’ll see.

I’ve upgraded the affiliate program for link experiment so that any affiliate that sends a sale to link experiment will get $15. That rate should go up in hand with link sales. It shouldn’t be too long before the affiliate commissions will be at $25.

LinkExperiment has dipped under 25,000 on Alexa today: check it here. I’m going to try to make some phone calls to some papers when the election dies down a bit about the Link Experiment. Hopefully I’ll get some papers interested in the site.

Big Alexa drop below 50,000 now at 44,251. I think there’s a good chance of linkexperiment showing up in alexa’s movers and shakers list pretty soon. Here’s a graph of the traffic spike:

Finally! We’ve dropped under 100,000 in the alexa rankings… by a lot. Link Experiment is now ranked the 84,747th most popular page on the net and we keep getting lower and lower!

ok, we’re sooo close to the $1,000 mark, I can taste it. Oh god do I want to hit that marker! Also, very close to breaking into the top 100,000 for alexa.

Some webmaster at digitalpoint who bought a link said he’s getting like 1,000 unique visitors a month from his $5 link. I had no idea that much traffic was going to a middle of the page link. Had a ton of link purchases today, something like 25 links sold, so that’s exciting.

I’m going to try to get in contact with my local papers once this baby hits $1,000 to see if any of them might be interested in doing a story about the page.

In running news my training has been going well. Did a good workout yesterday and an 11 mile run tonight going at around 6:10 pace. Excited to see what I can do in the race this week. I’d say in general everything seems to be going well lately.

Just noticed linkexperiment’s alexa rating dropped to 118,357. Pretty sweet, I really want to get under 100,000.

Got Links?
My t-shirt came in a few days ago and I finally got around to taking a picture of it. I think it’s pretty cool, and possibly the only one that thinks so. Also yes, this is my sad attempt at growing a beard.

Did a 14 mile run this morning, might do another 3 miles before I leave for Vancouver. I’ll be in Vancouver backpacking at Garibaldi Park for a week, so if anybody has any questions, I won’t be able to answer them until I get back, august 8th. Anyways, I’m pumped about backpacking, looks like it’s going to be amazing, and not 100 degrees like it’s going to be in philly.

As for the site. Alexa rating is down to 138,370, link sales at $352.80. I want to get under the 100,000 alexa marker bad. I’ve gotten email of a big sale that I’m going to take care of after my vacation, I’ll probably write a press release after that big sale and we’ll see what happens there.

Alright, that’s all for now, off to Vancouver. I’ll report back august 8th

We broke the 200,000 mark in alexa with a rank of 192,832, next barrier is the top 100,000. Link sales have been steady lately. The site has been selling a few links everyday. I’ll be sending out a press release soon anouncing linkexperiment selling over $100 in links.

Looks like a Google PageRank update is in progress, as a result Linkexperiment.com has just received pagerank of 4, with the links page getting a rank of 2. So now people buying links will get a link on a pr 4(average now is about a month) and a permanent link on a pr 2. Our alexa rank has also gone to 255,349! Very exciting, I think we can get down below 200,000 pretty soon.

Also to note, The links that have fallen of the main page got their clicks at a rate of 1/6th of a penny per click. I’d like to see you get that on adwords!

I suspect that the link sales and traffic to the site are going to surge now that people know that linkexperiment.com is passing pr.

Lot of news. Alexa ranking is down to 383,169 pretty cool. After anouncing the contest yesterday, traffic has jumped up, although not due to participation in the contest, I’ve only received 4 links thus far from the contest itself. Rest of the traffic is from interested webmasters which has resulted in about 4 sales yesterday for about $13 a new daily high, although there’ve been 2 link sales already today and it’s only 10 AM.

The contest is still wide open, the top referrer has sent 2 visitors I’ve also set up a top ten list for referrers on the contest page so once there are at least 10 referrers it will show the top 10, for now it’s just two. As of now there are 99 links sold, so just one more until the page is full.

Also, I checked out the #2 spot find in forums very cool site. It’s a forum search engine, which is very usefull to me since I’m always searching through forums.
