I recently did an interview for the owner of BerryBusyBlog which you can find here: interview It mostly goes into the background of the site and a little bit about myself. BerryBusyBlog is a blogging network to help get exposure to smaller bloggers. Don’t know too much about it but could be worth a shot at trying if you’re looking for more traffic.

I’ve got another interview that should be coming out from a long-time fan of the site that’s launching a new website. He’s a cool dude and hopefully his website will be a hit. I’ll link to it when he goes live. Right now I’m in Brookline, MA for thanksgiving and my 24th birthday(tomorrow).

Sales for the site have been pretty consistent lately and there has been an increase in consistent exposure to the link experiment lately. Just about everyday there’s a new blog post or forum thread started about the link experiment. I think it has a lot to do with the site passing the $10,000. Just before $10,000 the experiment was in a little Lull, but since it’s been passed there have been consistent link sales and new exposure.

That’s all for now, I’ll report back when I get back to philly.

Well over $1,000 in sales came in the last couple days. The contributing factors are that 1)the site recently broke $10,000 2) I started running an aggressive adwords campaign. I’m trying to narrow in on which sites bring in good traffic, and which bring in bad traffic.

Nearly $1,000 came from one customer who found the site through adwords. She has several sports pages on the homepage now (gocheaptickets.net, goboston.com, ticketboston.com) She emailed me a little about her story which is pretty interesting. Her name is Joyce and after fighting off breast cancer she decided she wanted to try something different. She decided to make a go of making money online and started a series of ticket/sports/boston sport websites. After a quick google check her ticket prices were on average $10 cheaper than what I found at some other online ticketing companies, so her sites look like a good deal as well.

I wish all the best luck to Joyce in succeeding with her online business.

The last link purchase of $81 pushed The Link Experiment over the $10,000 marker this morning! Really amazing, thanks to everyone who bought a link and helped make the Link Experiment as successful as its been so far. I’m going to do my part and now help all the advertisers get more exposure for their sites and help promote this story. Stay tuned for details.

In my running news, I ran the Rothman 8k yesterday and PR’d in the 8k by 7 seconds to run 24:44 for 8 kilometers(approx 5 miles). This was a great way to end the fall season. I’m now resting a bit in order to gear up for the Boston Marathon. I’ll need to qualify for it first, I plan to try to run a marathon in February at a relaxed paced to qualify for Boston, and then go for a good time at Boston, possibly going for the Olympic Trials qualifying standard of 2:22, but we’ll see how things go before I set out a time.

The Link Experiment has made its first appearance in print today! The Brookline TAB did an article about my running and my website. This is very exciting and is the first newspaper article I’ve had written about myself. There’ll be more to come as this sucker gets bigger! Speaking of which I predict by the end of today the $10,000 mark will be broken.

Released a Press Release today for $250! http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/9/prweb438395.htm hoping to get some good pickups by the press from that puppy.

New high link of $127.51 and there’s a bit of a surge in link purchases. This is due in part to the contest, but also in part to the fact that the page has been picking up a good amount of attention lately. Just the tip of the iceberg I believe.

A strong move was made today as one webmaster bought $120 in links that counted towards the $100 giveaway contest. Now instead of taking the 1st link for $100 they bought 20 links for $6. A very interesting strategy, and I’m not sure which one works better. On the one hand the 1st link stays up longer, and gets the most hits on the site. On the other hand the 20 links may stay for a shorter period, but if anybody clicks on a link on the middle of the page, it’s going to be this guy’s link. Also, thanks to this purchase, the minimum bid is now $3.01.

Also if this webmaster ends up winning, he will have paid only $1 per link a pretty damned good deal I’d say. Now is this move going to break the rest of the field, or is someone going to chase after him and battle it out for the $100 prize? there’s about 35 hours left in the contest, so we’ll find out. Good luck to everyone!

Still anyone’s $100. There are 3 main players now, 1st place has $25, second has $8, third has $5. Remember you can buy your own links. Also someone asked if you can offer incentives to people buying links, and you may. I also updated the contest page so the top contestants are shown and you can enter your email to see how many links you’ve sold.

About 51 hours left in the contest, good luck to everyone!

Alright folks, it’s time for another contest. This one will be a little different from the last one, here are the rules:

1.) Contest begins on Thursday September 14th at 12 AM EST and ends on Thursday September 21st at 12 AM EST.

2.) To enter the contest enter your email at this page: http://www.linkexperiment.com/contest.php

3.) Send Traffic to http://www.linkexperiment.com/?e=your@email.com (replace email address with your own.)

4.) Anyone you send that ends up buying a link will add to your total points, whoever has the most points gets $100

5.) You MAY purchase links from your own referral link

6.) If you send someone to the contest page and they sign up for the contest, you will receive 20% of the points they earn.

7.) You may use any means to send traffic, Good luck!

I’ll have updates on the contest as it gets running.

Someone has purchased a new high link for $100. It’s for a blogging review site, you pay to get blogs about your own site. It looks like it’s an affiliate link so I won’t put one up here, if you’re interested use the one on the homepage.

So the two goals I set out a couple weeks ago, of reaching $1,000 and getting a high bid of $100, have now been met. I think it’s time to be bold for the site’s next goal. $10,000 in links sold, with a new high link of $1,000. The site has been growing at a very fast rate recently and I don’t think it will be all too long before this next goal is acheived.

$1,000 marker has been broken with the latest link added for $6.60. Very exciting news! There also seems to be a lot more sources of traffic popping up for linkexperiment. It seems some people picked up the press release I sent out when I launched linkexperiment. We’ve come a long way since that first day when I sold 22 cents in links.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the Link Experiment a success, this is only the beginning.
