Yesterday was the biggest day in terms of sales and traffic. Sold a total of 13 links for $20.15. Also, traffic was at 674 pageviews with 234 uniques, here’s a graphic:

Also, like to complement the site that has the first four links (deepmarket.com) They have a very cool idea where every link they get to deepmarket.com will offset 1 ton of carbon. Check out the first link for details.

Ok, a lot has happened since my last post, not in terms of sales, only one for $.90.. I’ll list what has happened here:
1.) linkexperiment.com has been picked up by The Houston Chronicle saweeeet! Lot of info on me in the article.
2.) linkexperiment.com showed up on alexa last week with a rank of 2,000,000. Has jumped twice since then to 774,411, and they also have a picture of the site, not sure how they got a picture so quickly since this baby has been only been running for like a week.
3.) We’re now indexed by google and msn. Come on yahoo!

Link sales exploded yesterday. Not a lot of high bids, although a new high bid of $2.25 was placed. 29 links were sold total. Visitor stats: 116 uniques again and 285 pageviews. Weekend will be slow is my guess, then probably pick up next week. Sent a press release out that should hit early next week, so we’ll see what happens there. That’s all for now, gotta go race a 1500 in New York. Wish me luck.

Link sales yesterday: $10. 116 uniques and 404 pageviews. Looking over which links people are clicking on, the “we think cheaters suck” link is doing very well, it’s a well written text link. I guess because it’s a question people are more inclined to click on it. The ” Amisha Patel” link is doing well but I have no idea why, I don’t even know who she is, but maybe she’s big.
Oh, and someone said that they didn’t like how I included sara x’s review on my blog. Just want to point out I wasn’t mocking her, but if you want to leave a bad review of my site, I might post it here, because bad reviews are funny, much more funny than good reviews. That’s all for today, I’m gonna do some press releases next week so that’s probably when my next post will be.
Oh I forgot to mention, I opened up the site so now anybody can bid on any spot on the page, not just the first one. I think this will make this experiment last longer. Ok, hasta.

I decided to include a picture of myself. Now everyone knows who’s behind this page. I’ll post more info about myself in a later post. For now the stats on yesterday(I love stats): 136 unique visitors, 288 page views, and 1 link sold for $1. Only 1 link
however today I’ve already sold 5 links and the price has bumped up to $2, hopefully there’ll be more, but I’m happy with the one day high of $10 in link sales for a day.
I also got my first scalding review for my site:
“I feel this site shows no design what so ever. I think it jsut screams that you couldn’t be bothered with it. i don’t know if this is your abilities or not but it would appear to me as your just out to get the money, which would work better if the design was more inviting, Sorry
Sara x”
at first I thought maybe she had a point and the site didn’t look “spiffy” enough. But then I realized that I’m not really going for the “spiffy” look. I also like how she says “sorry” at the end of her post. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I’ll post more about myself later.
Peace

Yesterday had 76 unique visitors, 403 pageviews and 20 more links sold for a total of $3.87 and brining the minimum bid to $1. Think I’m going to wait about a week before putting out a press release and maybe advertising the page around. We’ll see how the link sales go and go from there.

Yesterday was a success. Got 8 link sales, brining the min link bid to $.10 and the total to $.21. Only put up 4 links on some webmaster message boards and got 71 visitors and 291 page views. Not bad for the site’s first day. Looking at the stats for today it looks like that figure might be double for today. I’m going to try to keep the links at just the message board links to see how fast the search engines pick up the page as a side experiment.
Also, someone at digital point brought up the fact that a person could buy 99 links, and then the last one at a very high price. To prevent this I’m going to place a new rule that you have to pay the same amount for all your links for a 24 hour period. This should help prevent something like that from happening.

I’m going to release the links for sale on a few webmaster message boards starting with my favorite digital point. I’m very curious to see what kind of response the page will get. Hopefully I’ll get some sort of angry/funny response from someone that I can post on this blog. Links are now open for sale at $.01 per link, let the experiment begin!
