Just noticed linkexperiment’s alexa rating dropped to 118,357. Pretty sweet, I really want to get under 100,000.

Well, I found the first linkexperiment.com copycat site and there’s even a script to create your own site. I’m sure more will pop up as linkexperiment starts to earn more. You know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

The DVD drive on my macbook died today
Now I have to send it back and have them send me out a new one. I tried to get them to send out the new one first, so I could transfer all my files from the old to the new, but they wouldn’t. Curses!
My first mac purchase. This hasn’t left a bad taste in my mouth for apple though, just got unlucky. Looks like I’ll have to be without my compter for a few days. So be it.
I’ve been selling about a link per day on average for the last week and a half now. I think that’s a pretty good rate. I’ve also seen traffic coming from new links popping up around the net, so that’s cool.
I did a pretty good workout yesterday, 6xmile on the track with 1 min jog rest between miles. averaged low 5:19 per mile and felt very easy. I should be ready to race decently in a week and a half.

Just as I blogged about a new high bid of $70, someone just outbid them with a new high of $75. The new link is pretty cool. It’s a site that shows ebay items that are $1 or less. The site is called last-minute auction

We have a new high bid of $70 brining linkexperiment.com one step closer to the $1,000 mark. The guy who bought the link emailed me to tell me he liked the site, seems like a great guy, everyone should check out his site it’s got some information about internet security/hackers.
Did a 15 mile long run yesterday to bring the weekly mileage up to 95 miles last week. Might break 100 miles this week. First race is less than 2 weeks away, I’m excited to see what kind of race shape I’m in.

It seems that microsoft’s advertising service is now compatible with firefox, finally! Great news considering I just bought a macbook. There’s still some bugs, but I started a campaign using firefox.
I’m going to try to update this blog more frequently, hopefully at least every other day. I did a workout yesterday that went pretty well. Did about 4 miles at 5:22 min/mile pace. In pretty good shape. Going to hit the upper 90s this week, might break over 100 miles for next week.
Links are being bought pretty regularly at this point and a lot of links going in the $20 range. I’m thinking about having another contest giving away $100 this time. Maybe I’ll start it when we get a little closer to the $1,000 marker.

The orginal 100 links that made up linkexperiment.com have now all been bumped off. The Experiment has come a long way since I sold the first link for $.01 Thanks to the first 100 bidders for making linkexperiment.com a success.
The Experiment has 2 goals for the moment. 1)Sell 1 link for $100 2)Get a total of $1,000 in link sales. At the rate the page is going both goals should be acheived in the next couple weeks.

Finally got my internet connection today! Good to take a forced 2 week vacation, but now I’m back in business. Going to try to work on getting link sales up to the $1,000 marker. I think once linkexperiment.com hits $1,000 more people will start to catch on. There have been a steady stream of $20ish sales, I’m working on a big sale right now, hopefully that one will go through soon.
Running has been going well. I’ve getting about 95 miles a week, should be in pretty good shape once my racing season starts. First race is my 3 miles alumni race on Sept 9th.

No Internet for 4 days :(

4 more days until comcast comes to install internet in my new house. I bought a macbook a few days ago. My PC had some bugs and I was sick of it, so I went with a mac. It’s saweet. I still have to learn all the mac tricks there are. Since my last update, the Link Experiment has broken the $500 mark, and received a couple $20 purchases in the last few days. I think the website is spreading through people who have had success with the links they bought and then telling other webmasters about the page.
I know of one webmaster, Tom Dahne, who has a lot of success with my links. He’s bought the number one spots a few times now. A while back Tom paid $20 for 4 listings and ended up making $388 from his links and 65 subscribers to his mailing list. Tom owns the websites Link Directory and Directory Submitter, and his links are still on the homepage!

Back from my trip to Vancouver. Awesome trip, did some good backpacking at Garibaldi Provincial Park and some walking around Vancouver. Took an easy week during the break with my running, about 40 miles for the week.
Now I’m back to do some good training and make some more link sales. I’ve also decided to give in and buy a macbook. Deciding which one to get now, the macbook or macbook pro. I’m a big mac fan, and my pc has become very buggy lately, so the time has come.
Other news, I’m moving to a new place this weekend and might lose an internet connection for a while. If I don’t get back to any emails immediately that’s why.
