The Link Experiment just sneaked under 20,000 in the alexa rankings, woohoo! It stands at 19,892. The next big one would be 10,000, that is a very hard level to break into but we’ll see.
I’ve upgraded the affiliate program for link experiment so that any affiliate that sends a sale to link experiment will get $15. That rate should go up in hand with link sales. It shouldn’t be too long before the affiliate commissions will be at $25.

Link Experiment has been popping up around on various blogs and forums, I thought I’d include a couple that I’ve seen so far:
Here’s a site where you can pay to vote on whether the link experiment will succeed or fail: http://www.piddypine.com/linkexperiment.php The owner will use the money made, pick one of the sites that voted and purchase a link for them on the link experiment.
This site analyzes some of the latest link sites: http://www.squidoo.com/thenextbigthing#module1777159
this blog does the same: http://miscblogger.com/?p=17
another blogger that wrote a post on the link experiment: http://www.thedigeratilife.com/blog/index.php/2006/11/07/million-dollar-home-pages-galore/
and another: http://batflattery.blogspot.com/2006/11/new-million-dollar-page.html
and yes another: http://buzzbadge.blogspot.com/2006/10/buzzing-linkexperiment-next-million.html
i think there was a blog post in german about the site as well, but I can’t seem to be able to find it now. Sorry to anyone I forgot about, if you’ve got a post just email me and I’ll try to return the favor.

From when I went to bed last night $283 in sales came in. Looks like a good amount of the sales are coming from my adwords campaigns so I’ll continue on with that and try to expand and increase my budget for it as well. I’m also looking to get into the PPC/affiliate game as well. I’ll need to spend a lot of time at the google adwords tutorials and at shoemoney’s blog to help get my skills down.
Marathon Training starts today. Think I’ll kick it off with an 18 mile long run. I’ll increase it to 22 miles over the next month. Boston here I come!

I recently did an interview for the owner of BerryBusyBlog which you can find here: interview It mostly goes into the background of the site and a little bit about myself. BerryBusyBlog is a blogging network to help get exposure to smaller bloggers. Don’t know too much about it but could be worth a shot at trying if you’re looking for more traffic.
I’ve got another interview that should be coming out from a long-time fan of the site that’s launching a new website. He’s a cool dude and hopefully his website will be a hit. I’ll link to it when he goes live. Right now I’m in Brookline, MA for thanksgiving and my 24th birthday(tomorrow).
Sales for the site have been pretty consistent lately and there has been an increase in consistent exposure to the link experiment lately. Just about everyday there’s a new blog post or forum thread started about the link experiment. I think it has a lot to do with the site passing the $10,000. Just before $10,000 the experiment was in a little Lull, but since it’s been passed there have been consistent link sales and new exposure.
That’s all for now, I’ll report back when I get back to philly.

Well over $1,000 in sales came in the last couple days. The contributing factors are that 1)the site recently broke $10,000 2) I started running an aggressive adwords campaign. I’m trying to narrow in on which sites bring in good traffic, and which bring in bad traffic.
Nearly $1,000 came from one customer who found the site through adwords. She has several sports pages on the homepage now (gocheaptickets.net, goboston.com, ticketboston.com) She emailed me a little about her story which is pretty interesting. Her name is Joyce and after fighting off breast cancer she decided she wanted to try something different. She decided to make a go of making money online and started a series of ticket/sports/boston sport websites. After a quick google check her ticket prices were on average $10 cheaper than what I found at some other online ticketing companies, so her sites look like a good deal as well.
I wish all the best luck to Joyce in succeeding with her online business.

The last link purchase of $81 pushed The Link Experiment over the $10,000 marker this morning! Really amazing, thanks to everyone who bought a link and helped make the Link Experiment as successful as its been so far. I’m going to do my part and now help all the advertisers get more exposure for their sites and help promote this story. Stay tuned for details.
In my running news, I ran the Rothman 8k yesterday and PR’d in the 8k by 7 seconds to run 24:44 for 8 kilometers(approx 5 miles). This was a great way to end the fall season. I’m now resting a bit in order to gear up for the Boston Marathon. I’ll need to qualify for it first, I plan to try to run a marathon in February at a relaxed paced to qualify for Boston, and then go for a good time at Boston, possibly going for the Olympic Trials qualifying standard of 2:22, but we’ll see how things go before I set out a time.

The link for KillSomeTime was bought 122 days ago making it the link that has stayed on the homepage the longest and it has a lot more to go. It was originally #1 when it was purchased 4 months ago. Currently it’s at #44, it just goes to show how much mileage you get out of buying the #1 link, it hasn’t even hit the halfway point on the site. If you can afford it, it’s definitely the best deal on the page.
It looks like I won’t be getting my wisdom teeth removed as my insurance doesn’t cover it, which is lame. I need to find better insurance apparently. Damn you aetna! The Rothman 8k is tomorrow, should be ready for a good time.
Only $173 away from $10,000!

Just did an interview for one site and another site requested one. I’ll post back the links as they put them up. This bad boy is so close to $10,000 I can taste it. Only $238 to go until I start my newspaper contacting frenzy. Actually it may be a bit delayed. I’ll be running the Rothman 8k this Sunday, and then getting my wisdom teeth removed the following day, so I’ll probably be out of comission for a bit.

Link Experiment[5] Comments
I’ve gotten a couple emails from people asking if they could use the script for linkexperiment for their own sites. I’m flattered that people like the site and the idea however I’ve decided to not make it available to help keep this site as unique as possible. However, I think it’s a good thing that people email to ask anyways. Remember, there are people behind all the sites you see, if you’ve got a question, don’t be shy ask them. It also helps to compliment their site. With that said I’m open to any questions people may have about the link experiment.

I’ve started up a new blog just to post about news I find interesting. You can find it at Browemerica.com. Yes I stole this from Sienfeld (Kramerica).
