Scalp Psoriasis Treatment

Sometimes all that appear to be dandruff, isn't necessarily dandruff. It could be scalp psoriasis.

What actually happens in psoriasis is your skin sheds cells hundreds of times faster than a normal person. And that's why you get flakiness. You're not alone though. About 3% of people have the tendency to develop psoriasis over the course of their lifetime.

It's not anything you caught from someone or can pass on to anyone else. It would be worth seeing a specialist to try to descale it, and get rid of the inflammation to make it less itchy and break the cycle.

Although there's no definitive cure, there are things that can be done. You can start by seeing a hair specialist.

First you can try a cream, cota karyolytic to soften the skin. Next, a hair wash can be used. The treatment can dislodge much of the skin.

The last step is a through combing. This treatment should help manage scalp psoriasis and make it much more tolerable.

Scalp psoriasis makes up about 50% of all psoriasis cases. The severity has a wide range from heavy dandruff to scales of skin coming off. Scalp psoriasis can also extend past the hairline to the face, ears, and back.
